The purpose of the association shall be:
To promote and encourage the national acceptance of a uniform standard of recognition for the skills and abilities of Emergency Medical Services.
To promote the professional status of Emergency Medical Services.
To foster, encourage, and promote the constant upgrading of the skills, abilities, qualifications, and educational requirements of Emergency Medical Personnel. To this end, encourage, promote, and engage in the sponsorship and initiation of courses of instruction and schools of training for the purpose of increasing the knowledge and efficiency of Emergency Medical Services.
To offer information and guidance on current concepts of Emergency Medical Care and governmental policies related to the control, certification, and license of Emergency Medical Personnel.
To promote the public welfare and the education of the general public in Emergency Medical Services.
To conduct or engage in all lawful activities in furtherance of the foregoing purposes, or incidental thereto.
